Florida Auto Insurance Requirements
The “Sunshine State” has auto insurance laws characterized by the “Partial No-Fault” system. This simply means that all injured parties are responsible for their own medical bills and any other costs related to injuries as a result of the accident.

The state of Florida may make mandatory for drivers with accidents or other moving violations to carry Bodily Injury Liability (BIL) in their auto policies, with a 10/20 minimum. While not required for the general driving population, it is recommended for all motorists in Florida to hold a BIL option in their policy to protect their assets.
