Chrysler Crossfire Insurance
The Chrysler Crossfire was supposed to be Chrysler's answer to European sports coupes like the BMW Z4 and the Mercedes SLK. Built in Germany, the idea of the Crossfire was to gain a slice of that luxury coupe market for American makers, specifically for Chrysler, but the Crossfire failed to win American hearts. Sales fell steadily year after year until finally the Crossfire was discontinued in 2007.
This wannabe American roadster came with a retractable soft top like its upscale competitors, a 260hp engine, and a very competitive base price of right around $30,000. Chrysler was counting on the Daimler name to give it a certain allure, but buyers failed to bite. Part of the problem was surely too much competition, and another problem was the fact that cost is not usually a primary factor for people who are in the market for a foreign made roadster.

Chrysler Crossfire insurance and safety features
The Crossfire Roadster came equipped with premium safety features, such as driver and passenger front airbags, door-mounted thorax side airbags, a 'LATCH' child restraint system with a passenger-side airbag deactivation switch, tire pressure monitoring system, a vehicle engine immobilizer, a security alarm system, quad halogen projector headlamps and – last but not least – tow-away protection.
These are all excellent additions to an already well-made car, but the fact remains that the Crossfire is essentially a sport roadster, not a family vehicle. Thus, insurance pricing is going to reflect this reality. In fact, Automotive Magazine estimates that the Crossfire will cost you an average of $126 a month in insurance costs over a five-year period (totaling $7,572).

The Chrysler Crossfire and theft insurance
Securing theft insurance for the Chrysler Crossfire is not going to sting to the same degree that securing theft insurance for the Porsche Boxster or the Mercedes SLK would, but it won't be as reasonable as the insurance you'd take out on a family sedan either. The older the Crossfire, the lower the insurance costs.
Buyers looking for an affordable roadster, with reasonable insurance costs, will probably like the Chrysler Crossfire. Then again, 'affordable' usually is not at the top of the list of desirable features for buyers interested in speedy roadsters. It always pays to check out the cost of theft and damage insurance on any car in advance of buying it. Finally: Take full advantage of group and association discounts, good driving discounts, and multiple policy discounts; you can ask our helpful insurance representative about the discounts available to you.
