Find Out How Much Money You Can Save on Insurance!

Ford Van Insurance

Ford has a long and diverse history in the van market. It has continued to maintain its presence as a manufacturer of fleet vehicles, including fleet vans. That diversity is growing. In 2010, Ford plans to release a completely electric van that is targeted at small business operators. It is being called the Transit Connect. The Transit Connect is not intended to replace the Econoline, which remains a popular fleet van suitable for passengers and cargo; instead, the diversification is intended to supplement Ford's offering to businesses.

Despite the common misconception that van insurance is expensive; it's actually possible to obtain rates that are comparable to other types of vehicles. In fact, Automobile Magazine estimates the 2009 E-350 costs around $115 a month. If you're savvy enough, you may even be able to obtain lower rates. In fact, we at Auto Insurance Finder are here to help you lower your rates. All you have to do is request a free, no obligation quote right here today!

Features of the Econoline

Some of the features of the Ford Econoline changed in 2008. Ford reports that the line has remained the best-selling full sized van in the United States since 1980. The newest models will have a front design more similar to the manufacturers' large truck front. For those who carry cargo, there will be an increased weight capacity. Other major changes include changes to the steering to reduce the effort required and to create a feel of being more centered.

All of the E-series vans include standard safety features including driver and passenger air bags and anti-locking brakes. The 2008 E-150 model van received 3 out of 5 stars in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's government rollover test. The 2008 E-350 received 2 stars on the same test.

Features of the Transit Connect

The Transit Connect is planned to operate completely on a battery pack. The van will be able to travel approximately one hundred miles on a fully charged battery. There will be a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine option for the Transit Connect. It is being offered as a more fuel efficient alternative to the Econoline. They share a body design with 135 cubic feet of cargo space. It is obvious that payload can impact the time that battery packs can sustain operation. The 2.0 liter engine is rated for a 1,600 pound payload capacity.

When the Transit Connect line was released in Europe in 2003 it was received warmly. Journalists named it International Van of the Year. It offers a number of options, including various door placements. The storage space exceeds many comparable vehicles, and its design has loading and unloading in mind.
