Back in 1937, two lawyers, Joseph Lewis and Jack Green, created the Progressive Mutual Insurance Company because they wanted to help people protect their investments; in particular, their autos.

Since then, Progressive Direct has greatly expanded its web site. A recent addition is their new catastrophe website which provides users with information on car safety and how to protect vehicles in the case of catastrophic events. The site lists very helpful information about what to do before, during, and after a catastrophe and outlines the necessary claim reporting process.
