The process of renewing your license varies according to the state you live in, but there are some specific steps that are common to every state. If none of the above situations apply to you, the process is fairly simple—you’ll just need to provide photo identification and pay the renewal fee to get your new license.
However, if your license has been invalid for a certain period of time (typically between one and three years), or any other special situations apply, you may need to resit knowledge or road tests, retake the vision test, or undergo medical examination depending on your specific situation.
