Find Out How Much Money You Can Save on Insurance!

RVs, Motor Homes, and Travel Trailers

Summer trips, cross-country adventures, and retirement bliss—all are reasons people buy RVs. Yet with this increased freedom and mobility comes another insurance responsibility. You can find quality insurance for your motor home or travel trailer.

Motor Homes

Motor homes, designed to provide temporary living quarters, are motor vehicles that are permanently attached to a motor vehicle chassis or van.

Permanently installed facilities include cooking, refrigeration, bathroom facilities (built-in and plumbed), self-contained heating and/or air conditioning, a drinkable water supply system, and a 110 to 125 volt electrical power system (including solar powered systems).

Further, motor homes can be classified by their frame, size, and shape, and may include the conventional motor home, the professional bus conversion, the non-professional bus conversion, the camper van, and the mini motor home.

Travel Trailers

Travel trailers and campers, in contrast, are nonmotorized, portable units designed to be towed by a land motor vehicle and designed for recreational and camping use.

Permanently installed facilities include cooking and sleeping areas. Trailer models include the conventional trailer, the fifth-wheel trailer, the pop-up tent trailer, trailers with recreational quarters, and the mounted truck camper.

Key Facts...
Almost two in three auto insurance shoppers used an online quote request in their most recent search. This contrasts with only 4% of auto insurance shoppers who purchased a policy at least five years ago. In 2009, one in every three consumers purchased a policy entirely online.
